Iam going to the hellyer park velodrome next saturday 1/31/09
Me and my bro and my bro in law are already going. so if anyone is interested on experiencing track racing they have a clinic. to get informed and also bike on the track. the clinic is only on saturdays. parking is 6 bucks per car so carpool would be best. And also this place is located south snajose off the 101.
I have copy and pasted the info form their website.. for more info the website is:
Who: Mostly Beginner and Novice Riders, but more experienced riders often ride to mentor and get track time.
What: Instruction on Safety, Fixed Gear Riding, Velodrome Racing, and lots of practice and exercise.
Why: Because to ride the track you need to learn to ride safely--it's a lot of fun when you know the basics.
What to Bring: Release Form, Helmet, Cycling shoes, pedals, warm clothing, a snack, water, Allen wrenches, sunscreen. If you have a track bike bring that also.
Cost: $5 to ride, $5 to rent a bike, $6 for parking, or by a yearly permit for $75.
Sessions Start at 8:30, be there a little early to rent a bike, all participants must be there at the beginning of the session. email the track................ Questions: email John Simmons at jbcarlo_99@yahoo.com

there should be a clear for no rain that day. once again the bikes are only 5 bucks and the fee is 5 bucks for the clinic. they have a ton of bikes to rent out.
