Death Ride 2009
Well I'm in! Thanks to JohnnyBoy's access to the registration. He was able to buy an extra one so if you want in and were not able register, post in the comments and let him know!
I was able to register one more rider so there are a total of two available slots.

Is anyone going to attempt it? The next open registration is on January 14th @ 10:00am via http://www.active.com/
If you like to camp with your family instead of riding. The campground we use is Grover Hot Springs SP. You can make reservations at ReserveAmerica or call 1-800-444-7275.
The Death Ride is always looking for volunteers also. Check out their website for info.
JohnnyBoy and I are camping there from July 5th to July 13th. I will try to register for the Death Ride again on January 14th.

Jack's garage
is safe but it was that close. My neighbors house wasn't so lucky it burned its guts and the whole garage. Here is the news clip from our local Argus paper.

Siclista 2009
Siclista's Year Starter Party 3Jan09
Click image to view photo album.
Siclista starts 2009 with a Get Together party at Lising home. A lot of food and booze. The party did not end until all the guys had shown their talent in singing notably Jack who could not let go of the mic on one hand and the glass of wine on the other. We would like to thank, Ed & Tess Lising for the hospitality and for offering their place as our venue for this festivity. Also watch here first the 2009 American Idol, solo & duet category (:solo cat. deleted due to copyright infringement;)

Get Together
Since our Christmas party did not push thru, We have decided to have a little get together at Ed Lising place this coming weekend 3rd of Jan 2009 (Sat) 5PM. All Siclistas are invited. If you want to bring some food great, but you don't have to. Just show up or better yet give us a ding in our comments so we can count head and estimate how much liquor we have to chill and food to heat from xmas leftover ;) Let us recap Siclista's 2008 year events, rides and camaraderies on the bike. Our thanksgiving also to have a friend like you with the same passion. Our jokes with laugthers are priceless. Do we need to call each and everyone of you, so you will come or reply? :(

is a 50/34 compact crank good or should i find smaller or can you post a faq about a good setup for hills thank guys
Reply:
50/34 is the smallest for any double crank setup, but you can go larger with your cogs, 12t/27t for Shimano without replacing your rear derailluer. If you want anything bigger than 27t your option will be a long cage rear derl which can be expensive (for larger 10spd cogs) if you have 10 spd setup. Another option is go triple for extra gears but you have to replaced rear brake/shift lever & rear derailluer. Campi have more setup option with their double because they have 3 sizes for their rear der'l. cage. Example: Their medium cage can go for 12t/29t easily. Check link below of gear ratio comparison. I hope this answer your questions.
