Subject: GdB2008 - Ride with the Champions

Due to personal emails and phone calls I have received in the last couple of days, requesting for a shorter course, I am happy to inform you guys and gals that yes, we have shortened the distance down to 68 miles from 100 miles. So the Giro d'Barkada 2008 will now be just a couple of miles longer than a Metric Century. It will cover almost 90% of the famous Delta Century except that we are starting at the Oak Grove Regional Park on 8 Mile Road and I-5. We have also moved the start time to 9:00 a.m.
We will have a mass start and will have a lead vehicle from the park all the way to Highway 12. This way, we will all have a chance to really ride with the champions.
There will be maps and directions and the road will be marked with RED ARROWS showing the turns. Water stops will be available and there will also be gas stations and stores with rest rooms along the way.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to call us or email us. My cell phone is 209-594-9211.
Also the park opens at 8:00 a.m. and there is a $5 entrance fee.
There will be raffle prizes and we also hope to have some games to make it worthwhile for those out of towners.
I look forward to seeing you this Sunday.

Re: 1st. Siclista Classic

Roger

Looking forward to it, count me in. Actually if there is something the weekend of Sept. 20-21, let me know.
There are 2 good 45 to 50-mile rides we can all do starting at Orinda BART. One goes north to the Carquinez Bridge, then return via Crockett - Franklin Canyon Road - Bear Creek Road. Another easier route is through Lafayette - Alamo - Danville - San Ramon then Norris Canyon - Castro Valley - Redwood - Pinehurst - back to Orinda. Orinda BART to the Mt. Diablo Summit is 27 miles, to the ranger station 22.5

Regards / Javier

Gentlemen, We expect your presence in our 1st. Siclista Classic. We are also planning to do a regular ride in your area (at least once every 2 months) We need a good 50mile ride with minimal climbing, no killer climb, maybe half way to Mt. Diablo?
Winston, please inform Edwin & Mario
Rozel please inform Rannie & Pat
