Stage 2: Originally, Jack, Vill, Ed & I discussed that we will commute Bart to SF as early as 0630 hours. After the peloton leaves around 0830, we can go for a ride. Any route suggestions? The other option is to avoid crowded SF & head south to Santa Cruz around 0700. There we can ride to Hwy 1 north @ 0830, then turn south by 1100 before the TOC arrives around 1230. I'm sure there will be expo at the destination.

Stage 3: We should all meet along Sierra Road. Bring your favorite goodies to share as well as spirits for lubrication since it will be cold & windy. The peloton departs downtown San Jose @ noon, so plan accordingly. Bobby are you holding the same spot as the past year? I will bring cold cuts, cheese & wheat bread.

Rain or shine me and BobbyG will have a pop up tent up on Sierra near where we were last year. The spot is just before the lookout point at the big eucalyptus trees. Here's a map of where we will be:

Request from BobbyG - if you guys want us to bring some stuff for you drop it off to Bobby no later than Monday.

We will drive up early in the morning to the site and unload before one of us drives back down to park the car.

Any volunteers for food and drinks would be great (and also beer :) ). We will have some drinks, hot tea, and BBQ. If you'd like to grill your own something special bring it too.

Also we will be streaming video/audio of the Adobe Tour Tracker courtesy of Sprint's fast 3G network.

jack is changing gears for Monday. Holiday for the kids too so I'll end up babysitting so my plan is to drive to Sta Cruz with my little Jamey on Monday and watch the race at the "finishing line". I'll prolly leave Fremont around 10 or 11AM.

Johnny, what's the latest we can climb up Sierra? I think I can play hooky for a couple hours and join you guys.

JohnnyBoy said...

Larry I'm not sure. The race I think starts at 12. We are about 2 miles up so go from there with your timing. I don't think cyclist will be barred like the cars up until you start hearing the cow bells then you should spectate over on the side :)

Siclista,

My whole family is on sick bay. The little one has pneumonia and the rest of us: cough & fever. Therefore, I will tentatively cancel my plan. You guys have fun.
