Lance Injured

“Clean collarbone fracture,” Bruyneel said. “Should be fast recovery.”

Looks like Lance had a bad break in the Vuelta of Castilla (Spain). Hopefully he can recover and make it to the TDF.

Ouch, JohnM! Thx for the news flash. I do wish him the best...apparently a pileup as the peleton was aggressively hammering down a narrow patch of bumpy road. This could put a damper on his training for the giro. He's a tough guy though & with only one minor 'injury' prior to this in 2003 TDF, but he was able to do a magnificent comeback.

Definate blow to his Giro ambitions but that might come into play since he might have been planning to cut short the Giro due to his new baby possibly coming during the race.

This might also work well for his TdF ambitions by not coming into form too early.

Interesting play-outs too with Conti, Levi driving the helm of astana..if lance does come back in time (and in shape) for the TDF, it'd be interesting if bruneel just gives it to him, sort of a harbinger for his next book, 'we might as well give it to lance!" :-)
